Help Sne and Indie compete internationally
Tax deductible
Incredible international surfing opportunities have arisen for two young pioneering women from our program and we need your support.
Both Sne and Indie have come from difficult social environments and have used surfing (and our programs) as a diversion from the challenges and dangers that they are exposed to each day.
They are both true South African pioneers in surfing and their story are an inspiration to other girls and young women coming through the program.
Their journey is being recognised internationally with two invitations to surf overseas.
Sne Makhubu came through our program and is a Surfers Not Street Children Ambassador, a mentor to the girls in the program and lifeguards for us. She has been invited to compete in Huntington Beach, California at an international surf contest called A Great Day In The Stoke. This is a huge opportunity for Sne to represent us on the world stage.
A Great Day In The Stoke is the largest gathering of black surfers in the world and a major platform for promoting diversity, inclusion and representation across surfing.
15 year old Indiphile (Indie) Osinachi has been selected for the South African national team for the second year in a row and invited to compete in the ISA World Junior Surfing Championships in Brazil. This is a huge achievement for Indie and the organisation and provides and opportunity to highlight the new black female talent pool emerging from our programs in both South Africa and Mozambique.
These are incredible opportunities and we do not want either Sne or Indie to miss out. We need your help to make these trips a reality. If you are able please donate and share on social media.
Anything over and above the amount raised will help support our Girls Surf Too program which is a dedicated component of our work supporting girls and young women living in incredibly tough environments.
