Help Snoe open an Inclusive Fine Line Tattoo Studio

Hello and thank you for being here! I’m writing in regards to my dear friend Snoe; a talented and community minded fine line tattoo artist in San Diego, CA. Snoe also happens to suffer from an autoimmune disease called Lupus SLE. Lupus is a chronic illness in which a person’s immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue and organs leading to intense and debilitating inflammation and damage to various parts of the body.

Snoe’s tattoo practice is about more than simply adorning her client's bodies with beautiful art. It is about cultivating a safe space for her clients to express themselves, laugh, cry, grieve, celebrate, share vulnerability and more. While it is not uncommon for tattoo studios to feel intimidating, cold and transactional, Snoe offers an alternative. She is truly one of the most empathetic humans I know, and is always at the ready with a listening ear, smile and hug.

In 2022 Snoe’s previous studio flooded, leaving her no choice but to abruptly close shop. Since then, she has been renting booths at various studios, but is now ready to rebuild what she started 3 years ago. Owning and operating her own studio will give Snoe the ability to carefully craft a warm space that both her and her clients can grow and heal in. Additionally it will give her the flexibility that she needs to schedule around doctor’s appointments and other commitments so that she can focus on her health and well-being.

Through the struggles and challenges that living with Lupus has presented, Snoe has continued to show up for her clients and community in meaningful ways. Her lupus is a constant battle, but going to tattoo and connecting with each of her clients gives her so much joy and purpose and she always shows up with a smile.

Unfortunately her medical bills are constantly growing as hospital visits, treatments, and medical testing with a chronic illness are unavoidable, time consuming and expensive; making it nearly impossible to save for a space of her own. With her permission, I asked to set up this GoFundMe in an effort to support her in opening the studio she has always dreamt of. A place that will not only benefit her (an incredible human who is so deserving) but all of the amazing clients she will tattoo.
