Help Soba Battle FIP

Dear friends and caring hearts,

My name is Sharon and we're reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a plea for support. My dear friend, Joanne, needs help with paying for Soba, her beloved cat's medication. Soba is facing a serious health condition that demands urgent medical attention.

So while she’s doing her best to take care of Soba currently, I'm hoping we can help to alleviate the financial burden on Joanne through this fundraiser.

Soba was very recently diagnosed with FIP

“Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is a viral disease of cats caused by certain strains of a virus called the feline coronavirus. An intense inflammatory reaction to FIPV occurs around vessels in the tissues where these infected cells locate, often in the abdomen, kidney, or brain. It is this interaction between the body’s own immune system and the virus that is responsible for the development of FIP. Once a cat develops clinical FIP, the disease is usually progressive and almost always fatal without therapy that has recently become available, but that has yet to be approved to treat FIP in cats by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). To our knowledge, coronaviruses cannot be passed from infected cats to humans.” - Cornell Feline Health Center

Soba’s health is rapidly declining and Joanne is doing her best to make him comfortable but it’s very hard when the medication Soba needs is currently not approved by the FDA. She has to find other means of obtaining it and the cost of his medical bills keeps exponentially increasing. If you’ve ever had a pet, you know that they’re not just a pet. They’ve become part of your family. They give you all the headaches that come with sharing your entire space with someone while not even paying rent...but you also know just how much they complete your life by just existing with you. They make a long, hard day much more bearable when they come to greet you excitedly as soon as you walk through the door. Just as Soba has given Joanne comfort in her life and we can even go as far as saying that he has rescued her, she also wants to save Soba’s life or at the very least, give him as much comfort as she can.
