So-Earn and I first met in Seoul, South Korea, where a love story began that would carry us across oceans and through decades of joy and hardship. In 1977, we took a leap together, moving to the United States with hopes of building a life filled with love, dedication, and purpose.

A Life of Determination

So-Earn is not just my husband; he’s a pillar of strength. As a gifted mechanical engineer, he brought his talents to every challenge, including his own fight for survival. In 2006, after a devastating diagnosis of stage 4 stomach cancer, So-Earn demonstrated unmatched courage and resilience, overcoming the illness and inspiring everyone around him with his fighting spirit.

A Cornerstone for Our Community

In 2016, we opened HopVine Patch, our small Seattle store that quickly became more than just a business—it became a gathering place. We’ve put our hearts into creating a welcoming space where friends, neighbors, and families feel at home. Your kindness and support have meant the world to us and sustained us through both triumphs and trials.

Our New Battle: Asking for Your Help

Now, we face our greatest challenge yet. So-Earn has been diagnosed with advanced esophageal cancer. We are grappling with the burden of mounting medical expenses while trying to keep our beloved store running. We’re reaching out to our friends, neighbors, and anyone moved by our story to help us in this time of need.
