Help Sofia Fight Brain Cancer and Find Hope
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Benji, and I am reaching out for your support in helping my wife, Sofia Cardoso, as she battles a rare and challenging diagnosis of grade 2 brain cancer. Sofia was diagnosed in February 2024, and while surgery was able to remove part of the tumour, her battle is far from over. There is still a chance the tumour may continue to grow, which could mean future chemotherapy. Meanwhile, she faces ongoing struggles, including epilepsy and severe anxiety, as part of this journey.
A Little About Sofia
Sofia is 35 years old, full of life, kindness, and resilience. She has always been a supportive friend, a loving partner, and a bright light in our community. Her positive spirit has been a constant source of joy for those around her. Yet, since February, she has been unable to work, with her condition growing more complex as her treatment progresses. Each day brings new challenges, and while we remain hopeful, her battle is ongoing and uncertain.
Our Journey Together
The surgery to remove part of Sofia's tumour was a necessary step, but it also left her vulnerable to epilepsy and heightened anxiety. The impact on her daily life has been profound, as simple tasks often feel overwhelming. This also means that I need to be by her side to care for her, limiting my ability to work and adding strain to our financial stability.
What makes this journey even harder is that our families live in South America, leaving us without local support. Sofia’s health demands constant care, which makes it difficult for me to maintain a steady income. As her husband, my priority is to be there for her, but without the ability to work consistently, we are struggling to keep up with the costs of her ongoing and alternative treatments.
How You Can Help
Sofia is exploring every possible treatment to slow the progression of her cancer and manage her symptoms. Many of these treatments are not covered by insurance and are expensive. We are humbly asking for donations to help cover the cost of Sofia’s treatments and allow me to take time away from work to provide the care she needs.
Your generosity would give Sofia a fighting chance and bring much-needed relief to our small family. Whether it’s a donation, sharing this campaign, or simply keeping us in your thoughts, any support you can give would mean the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and for any help you can provide.
With gratitude and hope,
Benji
