Help Sofie Serve and Learn in France
Donation protected
My name is Sofie Vaughn. I am a current sophomore at Saint Cecilia Academy (SCA) in Nashville, TN. I am trying to raise $2100 more so that I can go on an immersion, pilgrimage, and service trip to France this September. Every year, 3 or 4 SCA French students are invited to participate. The trip has three goals. For the first few days, the focus is on language and cultural immersion as we will attend a French Dominican school, Lycée La Sauque in Bordeaux, and live with a school host family. This helps us establish bonds and get accustomed to the culture and language in preparation for joining the French students on their annual Dominican Week Rosary Pilgrimage to the Grotto and Basilica at Lourdes, where we give service assisting sick, elderly, and disabled pilgrims who travel to Lourdes at this time to be healed.
In addition, for the final two days before returning to Nashville, the Dominican sisters at St. Cecilia have arranged for us to attend mass at Notre Dame and at Sacré-Cœur in Paris, where we will be able to stay as pilgrims for one night.
Any amount you can donate: $5, $10, $20 or more would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your support.
