*Soha uses her family friend's PayPal account to receive money, who takes 16.5% commission fee per transaction (which is totally a normal practice in Gaza right now; commission fees vary between 15 to 40% depending on the vendors). So if you send less than $100 (=£80), she can't withdraw any substantial amount.

I'm Soha from Gaza, Deir al-Balah, I'm 17 years old.

By God, my situation is difficult for me and my family, and I want to be the cause of joy for my parents and sisters. By God, we are living in a war, and our house was bombed in the war, and we are living under shelling, and we are tired and life and prices are very expensive.

My name is Aika and I am a relatively new, yet close friend of Suha Alqurean, who is a 17-year-old Palestinian from central Gaza. I am reaching out to you today on behalf of Suha to seek your urgent assistance to provide food, clean water, and clothes for her family of eight.

Before 7th October, Soha was a high school student who hoped one day to become a doctor and help children in Gaza. Her dream was shuttered, however, when the occupation forces bombed her house, forced her community to starve, and killed her cousin's family in an airstrike.

In early April, Soha decided to create an Instagram account and reach out to people worldwide to seek support to feed her family. I met Soha during this time. We video-called twice and have been exchanging messages almost every day. Soha is an astonishingly generous person; with the emergency fund sent by her supporters, she fed kids in her community before she bought another meal for herself.

The donation raised will be sent to Soha via her family friend's PayPal account. It will be used to buy daily necessities, that is: food, water, and clothes, for Soha’s family of eight, which includes: Saeed (56), Ghada (43), Laith (19), Soha (17), Hala (16), Haya (12), Alain (11), Ghaith (6). Remaining money will be used to rebuild their house.
