Help Sokunthy cover medical expenses.
Donation protected
Gustav and I are organizing this campaign to help our dearest Friend and colleague Sokunthy raise funds she desperately needs.
Sokunthy and Gustav have been working together in Cambodia for more than 21 years with Friends International (FI), a non-governmental organization working with street youth and their families, helping them build their futures.
Throughout her career, Sokunthy has directly trained and supported more than 1,000 youth to get vocational training, find employment and support themselves and their families.
Sokunthy was diagnosed in April this year with liver cancer. Sadly, she was unaware she had chronic hepatitis B and C, which triggered it. She now urgently needs to travel to Bangkok to get the cancer removed.
As many of you might be aware that Cambodia is medically not very advanced, and that’s why this has to be done in Thailand.
The hospital will do a TACE to kill the cancer on the spot. It is basically injecting chemotherapy directly into the malignant tumour. Because her cancer is in two different locations, she needs to have two different procedures done and follow up every six weeks for the next 6-12 months ahead.
Please see more information on this procedure below.
FI has supported as an organization as much as it possibly could.
My dear friend does not have international medical insurance to cover all her expenses. The total cost for it will be $25,000 USD.
That’s why I am asking for your support to help her and her family with all the bills.
There is no donation too small. Every single dollar counts.
If you need any more information, please feel free to contact me anytime.
