Help Sola get her medical degree

Sola’s story
Sola is a third year, international medical student at the University of Nottingham. I met her at the start of medical school and I have known her since. As most are aware, international tuition fees are extraordinarily high; these are even higher for clinical years in Medical school. Unfortunately, the pandemic has significantly affected Sola’s family business, which is her main source of financial support. This means that she cannot meet the tuition fee payment deadlines imposed by the University. They require that £14,790 be paid by February 2nd, otherwise her IT facilities will be restricted. This includes the university email account, online learning tools/platforms, and library access. As we all know, lockdown means everything is conducted online now. This restriction would be detrimental to her medical career, as it means Sola will have to miss an examination and her dissertation viva. The latter is particularly important to her progression in her medical education.
The cause
Sola is very hardworking and motivated. Aside from university courses, she has been involved in cancer research in reputable institutions in the UK. She has both the passion and skills to be a doctor; I can’t imagine her doing anything else. She’s worked hard to make it into medical school and now this is being taken away from her because of something that is completely out of her control. It would be a huge loss to society if Sola was unable to finish her degree and use her skills.
This has inevitably had a huge impact on her mental health and well-being. Alongside her studies, she is also working part-time to finance her living cost. Medical school is very demanding, so added with the social isolation of being in a foreign country alone during lockdown and this issue looming over, Sola is under an extreme amount of stress.
How the money will be spent
£14790 needs to be paid so that Sola’s IT access will not be restricted (insert uni email screenshot). Sola’s family is only able to meet half of this before the examination and viva are due. All donations will go into clearing this (£14790) outstanding charge.
Gratitude and appreciation
Any help, no matter how small you think it may be, is greatly appreciated. Sola also welcomes any advice regarding other avenues of financial aid. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
