Help Soni Start a New Life

Soni is a close friend of mine currently living with neglectful parents. His parents will often fight with one another and verbally abuse him, calling him a moron or treating him like a child despite being nineteen years old. They ignore his mental health and often call him weak for his struggles despite being aware that he suffers from suicidal ideation. They have been manipulating him in an attempt to have him bear all the financial responsibility, even putting his name on the lease for their house despite him not having a job.

Soni's only comfort has been online contact with his friends. Plans to move have been discussed for many months now. However, within the next month or two, Soni is likely to lose contact with his friends due to being unable to afford bills. Not only will he lose contact with people who care about him, but he will lose his only chance of escaping an unsafe home life.

This fundraiser is to help Soni travel out of state and into a safer environment with his girlfriend. With him in a better home, he will be able to start taking steps to recover, giving him the chance to attend college, get a job, and get help for his mental health.
