Help Sonya Earn her Terminal Nursing Degree

Greetings, my name is Sonya, also known as Olivia, by many. I have been a bedside registered nurse for 4 years, working in the ICU, Medical/Surgical, and Emergency settings.

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be involved in the medical field. As life would have it, medical school was not something that I was able to attended, but I found my calling in bedside nursing. I truly love interacting with patients, teaching them about their health, and seeing them recover from injuries and illnesses. To be witness to the emotional and physical pain that patients go through, and to aid them in overcoming is an experience that is comparable to none.

I came to the conclusion that in order to do this on a greater scale, affecting more people in a positive way, that I needed to become a nurse practitioner. With that in mind, I have now begun to pursue a doctorate in nursing with a specialty in emergency medicine nurse practitioner. I truly believe that everyone, no matter their race or nationality, is deserving of thorough, kind, and complete healthcare. I have the passion to be a kind, comforting, familiar face in fearful and unknown situations, especially in the emergency environment.

To pursue my passion of helping others in a more complete way, I have begun my DNP education at Emory University. While in this full time program, there is an inability to also continue to be employed full time, so I am asking for financial assistance with tuition at this world renown university.

Funds earned via this method will be used solely for tuition costs.

At the completion of this degree, I aim to work for underserved, rural communities as an urgent care/primary care provider, allowing them access to the healthcare that they are entitled to.
