Help Sophia's Grandma Help Her Fight Cancer

Think of the person you love most in the world.  For Sherri Patterson, that is her sweet, one and only granddaughter, Sophia, age 5.  Sophia is Sherri's mini-me.  They spent long, happy days together, swimming, going to the park and the pumpkin patch, riding horses,  all the simple joys of childhood.  They are crazy about each other.  Sherri is Sophia's everything, the grandma who loves her unconditionally and is her loving and stable presence through the storm.  And life has been very cruel and very stormy--Sophia recently got diagnosed with the unthinkable, childhood cancer.  Determined to be neuroblastoma, the cancer was pushing against her spine and her heart, already requiring one surgery to save her life.  If that was not heart-breaking enough, Sophia is having to go through all of this without her Grandma Sherri.  Although Sherri has the legal right to see her, (having been granted the very difficult to obtain and hard-won "grandparents rights" by a judge,)  Sherri is being kept from seeing Sophia, even while she is in the hospital, fighting for her life.  Unimaginably, as close as she and Sophia are, Sophia's parents did not even tell Sherri she was ill--she had to find out by accident.  Now Sherri has to go back to court so that a judge can enforce Sophia's right to have her grandma by her side as she fights cancer.  Sherri is on disability and has a very limited income, so we, her friends are raising money so that she can pay the legal fees and see her granddaughter before it is too late.  Please help us reunite Sherri and Sophia! Sophia deserves to have all the love and support she needs as she goes through cancer treatment.  No child should be alone going through that. Anything you can donate will be immensely appreciated.
