Help Sophie & Ruth to have a family

“Why should I fund two women to have a family?” please allow us to share our journey so far...
It's been an emotional rollercoaster so far, and if there was another way to fund our IVF journey we would be pursuing it, but as it stands, we've exhausted our personal options and many people have told us to go for this...
Anyone who knows us will know that we want nothing more than to be mummies and have a family to call our own.
There are many ways we can have a family, but we believe that going through a legal clinic to be our only option.
To date, we’ve had two attempts at IUI (basic insemination) and two attempts at IVF. On our first attempt at IVF this year, we were lucky enough to get pregnant, but during our 7-week scan, no heartbeat was found, we sadly had a missed miscarriage and Rocky (our embryo) went to heaven. Three months later we tried again with our last frozen embryo and despite our best efforts, the test was negative.
To date, we’ve had four failed attempts which means we’re only two away from a free round of IVF on the NHS. In Worcestershire, heterosexual couples get a free IVF cycle, for us, we have to pay out tens of thousands of pounds and experience repeated trauma before we have that privilege, this is one of the many discriminatory roadblocks we've experienced.
If you want to watch our journey in more detail, please feel free to watch the following videos which cover our experiences, or keep scrolling: (warning: emotionally triggering)
Our dream is that one day, both of us will experience carrying and delivering a healthy baby, sadly, we have paid out around £15K for what feels like heartache and an ongoing financial strain.
We are hoping to raise at least £10K to help pay for another round of IVF, this includes the cost of the sperm (£1K), medications, scans, egg removal, fertilisation, and transfer. At this stage, we are also considering freezing Sophie's eggs with the view to Ruth carrying as we look into Sophie's possible underlying gynecological issues. Any extra funds raised from this Go Fund Me will be set aside for future use for Ruth's cycles.
Anything you can donate to our cause will be gratefully appreciated, if you're not in a position to help us financially, a share on your socials would help promote our cause further.
Thank You to everyone who has shown their continued support for us and kept us in their thoughts and prayers.
