Help Sophie Sutton represent AUS at CX Worlds
Donation protected
My name is Justin (I manage the Giant Hampton Racing team) and we are seeking your help to get Sophie Sutton to the 2024 U23 Cyclocross World Championships in February over in Tabor, Czech Republic.
Unfortunately as this event is not an Olympic sport, Auscycling have no funding available and very little support for the athletes to mount their campaigns.
This means that they have to book everything themselves (flights, accommodation, transport etc) as well as organise race support while over there in the winter conditions.
Being a cyclocross event the seeding/starting grid is also an important factor, and in order to have a decent position for the event riders need to have experience and points from some UCI races or world cups.
Sophie is planning to travel up in mid January to get a few races under the belt before worlds.
Having moved out of home to the Gold Coast earlier this year, Sophie has been working as much as she can on top of training and studying to help herself in funding her own racing expenses and equipment. However when it comes to the cost of worlds it is a bit of a stretch on what she can afford.
Racing a world championship has always been her dream and is not an opportunity she should miss, so I am hoping that she can receive some support that can help her to get there to reach her goal and represent Australia.
The budget estimate comes to around $10k for the trip, so for any assistance, no matter how small, would be amazing.
Thank you so for reading and lets make this amazing young woman's dream a reality.
