On Thursday February 3rd we received disturbing news that our friend Sornia suffered a tragic loss. Her apartment building was engulfed in a fire and she had lost everything. We frantically contacted Sornia to make sure she was okay. Sornia did not sustain any injuries but her entire contents, furniture and personal memorabilia was gone in a matter of minutes. She no longer has a place to live. Once we saw the damage to the building we knew that it was a miracle from God that she was never hurt in this terrible blaze.
Who is our friend Sornia?
Sornia is a compassionate soul who would give the shirt off her back for her family and her friends. She's an amazing cook who can transform a basic dish into a gourmet cuisine. If she's in your kitchen cupboards than your in for an appetizing treat.
Sornia also works part-time with a non-profit organization. She's an advocate for a program called
Tru Potential that helps people realize the true potential in themselves. She's not only a facilitator but she cooks the meals for this program as well.
Life can sometimes throw some unpleasant hardships. That's why we're asking all our friends and the GTA community to help Sornia rebuild back what she lost. She can never replace the memorabilia's and the personal items but giving even a little would mean a lot to her. It isn't everyday someone you know and care about loses everything....
So thank you Community and if you can help in anyway it would be greatly appreciated. Let's help her rebuild her life so she can get back to helping the community and touching peoples lives all over again.
