Help Soulfit Support Local People
Update...........
Great News we have raised £600, with the donor match that's £1200!! Enough for 10 sessions for people with mental health challenges. Will you help us make it to 50%?
How We Got Here
Just over a year ago we set up our small social enterprise in Lewes, East Sussex. We called the business Soulfit to emphasise that we wanted to be more than just a yoga and fitness studio, we wanted to be a wellness centre, offering a whole range of treatments and programmes.
We also wanted to make sure that everyone was able to have access to the opportunities we offer. So we’ve been offering free classes to people with mental health challenges through the Wellbeing Centre, as well as below cost access to classes for those on low incomes and others who need it.
A Challenge Only You Can Tackle
We now have a challenge and we need your help. We’ve had a successful year . The business is growing. But like many small family affairs with a social conscience we struggle to balance the need to be financially sustainable with a desire to invest in providing services like those above
That's where you can help. We’re simply not profitable enough to be able to be providing this kind of support. We’re looking for individuals like you to contribute £25, £50, or even £100 to help make the business more sustainable and allow us to continue with our mission.
How You Can Help
£30 - helps us meet the cost of a discounted place on 1 yoga class for individuals with mental health challenges
£50 - helps us meet the cost of discounted places for 2 yoga classes
£100 - allows us to meet the full cost of a tutor for a class of up to 20 including insurance and expenses for one month
And Your Impact Is Doubled!!
The really great news is that a generous investor has offered to match any donations up to a total of £5K. So your donation will have double the impact.
You'll Be A Local Hero
You don't get anything material in exchange for your gift. Though we hope you feel good! But we want to recognise you as a local hero. For every person that gifts £50 or more we'll put your name on our local hero wall in the studio for 12 months
We’d love you to help with whatever you can and allow others to experience the benefits of wellbeing.
Emma is the Wellbeing Centre Co-ordinator, this is what she had to say.....
"At the Lewes Wellbeing Centre we work with a wide range of clients with an even wider range of health issues. For some clients these are both mental and physical, and quite often they find that if they are having a bad time with their mental health it will make their physical health worse and vice versa. Soulfit have been providing us with exercise sessions for some time and this varies between Circuit Training and Yoga. Fiona and Gyles have been able to offer this free of charge to the centre, which has meant that we have been able to pass this onto our clients who have hugely benefited from this.
Clients will often say to us how much better they feel after the session as they have been able to get their natural endorphins flowing. They have felt happier, more positive, productive, healthier and fitter the more that they have come to the classes the more differences they have noticed. At the centre we can’t thank Gyles and Fiona enough for offering this to us, as it has had such an impact on our clients.
Everybody has mental health, and we all manage it in different ways. Exercise allows our body to release natural ways of maintaining and recovering our own mental health. In some cases it means the difference between being on medication or not.”
