Help Souper Saucers Serve 250 Meals Weekly
Tax deductible
Greetings of solidarity to you all. The Souper Saucers need your help to keep up their work!
Souper Saucers started on Isky’s stove almost 4 years ago; since then we have sourced recovered ingredients, cooked from scratch, and directly distributed over 42,000 free, nutrition- and taste-conscious meals to those who need them in Oakland and Berkeley. We are dedicated to countering the oppressions of poverty, particularly the dehumanization of people who need support for basic needs, with an emphasis on providing free meals to the hungry.
By design we are and will remain a shoestring, threadbare project conducted by volunteers. We wish to show first preference for the creativity and no-cash resourcefulness that poor folks must rely on in their lives. We have actively solicited donations only once for a fundraiser, raising $1200-- through which we purchased a used commercial refrigerator that continues to be crucial to the operation after almost 3 years.
The time has come again to raise funds to cover some necessary kitchen and distribution expenses. Donations will go directly to purchase equipment and pay expenses to sustainably boost the production and distribution scale to more than 250 meals per week.
