Help South Manchester Families Rebuild After Hurricane

Donation protected
My name is Michelle Davis, and together with my sister Yvonne Baxter, we are reaching out to you through our family foundation, the Man P Davis Family Foundation, with heavy hearts to share the dire situation our cherished community in Jamaica is currently facing. Recently, Hurricane Beryl ravaged the area where we grew up, leaving behind a trail of destruction and despair.

We were born and raised in Grove Town (Haughton Pond), South Manchester, Jamaica, before migrating to the United States over 30 years ago. Despite the distance, our bond with our hometown remains strong. We visit Jamaica frequently and make giving back to our community a big part of our lives. Now, more than ever, our community needs your help.

Hurricane Beryl has caused extensive damage:
Homes and Roofs:
Many families have lost their homes or roofs, leaving them vulnerable and without shelter.

Electricity:
The community is without electricity, likely for months, due to downed power lines and light posts.

Food Supply and Livelihood:
The storm has devastated crops and brought down the majority of trees, severely impacting the community's food supply and livelihood.

In this challenging time, our people are in desperate need of assistance to rebuild and restore our community. Here’s how your support can make a difference:

Financial Aid:
Donations will be used to purchase essential supplies such as building materials, generators, non-perishable foods, batteries, lanterns, bedding, and clothing.

Supplies:
In addition to financial contributions, we are also collecting supplies to ship to Jamaica.

Spreading the Word:
Sharing this campaign with your network can help us reach more people and gather more support.

My sister, her husband, and I will be going to Jamaica next week with as many supplies as possible to assist with the immediate needs. We will also be coordinating the shipment of additional supplies to ensure continuous support for our community.

Any support you can provide, whether it be financial aid, supplies, or even spreading the word, would be immensely appreciated. Together, we can help our community recover and emerge stronger.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
