Please Help Save Ol' Man! ❣️❣️

UPDATE: NEED AT LEAST $1700 FOR HIS SURGERY THIS THURSDAY, NOV. 16!!

His first surgery was scheduled for Sept. 13, but when they put him under anesthesia he began to turn blue!! His lungs were not oxygenating his blood! They cancelled surgery and chest xrays showed fluid. Diagnosed with a pulmonary infection (pneumonia). He went through 3 rounds of antibiotics w/ multiple chest xrays that continued to show fluid (or inflammation) in lungs. Finally, he was diagnosed with asthma.! We made changes to air quality in his environment and he is on steroids to reduce inflammation. We hope he can go forward with surgery on Nov. 16.

The cost of the additional treatment including pain meds and antibiotics, multiple recheck appts and chest xrays totaled more than $2000. Some of that was covered by fosters & rescuers. The rest of the funds came from GoFundMe donations. As of today, 11-12-23 we need to raise ~ $1700 more for his surgery on the 16th... JUST 4 days from now.

We are applying for grants but there is no guarantee we will be approved! OL' MAN NEEDS and would APPRECIATE your support! He has continued to STRUGGLE with awful mouth pain and inflammation while we attempted to treat what we thought was pneumonia! He has suffered enough. Please help him!

Ol' Man can't wait any longer and it is heartbreaking to see him suffer! In all his photos his chin is either dirty/wet or his tongue is sticking out indicating he is in pain!!! :(

Unfortunately, his foster brother, Dirty Harry, had to cross rainbow bridge just last summer due to the same disease! We tried SO hard to save him, but the vet said there was nothing more we could do.

Please help us prevent Ol' Man's disease from progressing that far.

Ol' Man had surgery 3 months ago and they pulled all but 6 teeth. We hoped that would fix the problem, but the vet said if it didn't, he would need to see a specialist to have the others removed. He has been on constant antibiotics, steroids, and pain medicine since we rescued him... It is all taking a toll on him, and he can't endure it much longer. (Long-term use of all 3 medicines have side effects! So, he is on other medicines to treat those side effects!) It is brutal having to give him all these medicines daily and he hates it!!

Plus, he is almost always in constant pain..... despite pain meds. And ultimately, his gums are getting worse.... We HAVE to raise the money to have the specialist do the surgery or it won't be much longer for this sweet adorable boy! He is really something special with his personality and extra thumbs as he is a polydactyl Kitty!

He was rescued almost 7 months ago from a horrible hoarding situation with a severe case of stomatitis. It is similar to an auto immune disease where the body's immune system sees normal plaque on his teeth as a pathogen and mounts an immune response against it causing massive inflammation and infection!

It's extremely painful and can prevent cats from eating or drinking completely.
