Help Spartans Hockey Get To Nationals

We are the University of Tampa Spartans Men's Ice Hockey Program. This year, we fielded two men's teams for the first time in program history. Both teams competed as members of the Collegiate Hockey Federation (CHF) and both teams will travel to Philadelphia to compete in the National Tournament.

The Division II team has had the best season of its 12-year history. With a regular-season record of 25-1-1, the Spartans rolled into the Southern Collegiate Hockey Conference Playoffs (SCHC), riding a 19-game winning streak.

In its inaugural season, the Division III team recorded a regular-season record of 21-0-1, with its only loss coming in overtime. The Division III Spartans outscored their opponents 162-32 in 22 games. They would then win the Florida Collegiate Hockey Conference Playoffs (FCHC), securing them a spot to compete in the Div. II SCHC playoffs. The Division III Spartans took on Division II UCF Knights and punched their ticket to the SCHC Semifinals and the National tournament with an overtime winner.

Playoffs included; the combined program record between both teams this year was 51-3-2. The two teams outscored their opponents 378-112.

The CHF Federation Cup will be in Philadelphia, PA, from March 18th through the 23rd. The Division II Spartans will be attending as the #1 seed in the tournament in which 32 teams will compete. The Division III Spartans are still awaiting seeding but will also look to make a run.

The budget has been tight for our program this year. Even with every player paying over $1,500, a few generous donations from UT Student Government, Campus Recreation, and our great sponsors, we are still looking to continue our fundraising efforts, with additional postseason costs expected to exceed $1,500 per player potentially.

We are estimating the trip to cost around $50,000 between both teams. All money raised here will go towards flights, hotels, and other miscellaneous travel expenses needed to accommodate the team & coaching staff. We will put any leftover funds towards next year's budget.
