Hi everyone, my name is Stefanie and I run a non profit that creates spay/neuter/vaccine programs for street cats and dogs in the US and have expanded my efforts to East Africa. There is a major overpopulation crisis for street animals in Uganda and sadly the local government treats them like pests. They poison them as a form of population control and villagers beat them if they come searching for food on their property. Ssegujja Duncan runs a shelter in Mityana, Uganda where he provides a home to dogs and cats that would otherwise be left to suffer and die on the streets. But with his lack of resources he needs help. He currently rents the shelter and the cost of rent keeps rising. If he could purchase his own land to build a shelter on, it would cut down his monthly costs and allow him to take in more animals. He works 100% off of donations to be able to continue to provide a safe haven and meals for hungry animals every day.
