Help Stacie Beat Cancer!
Donation protected
Hey folks. So, uh, about a month or so ago we got the news that Stacie's got breast cancer--invasive ductal carcinoma to be specific. We've caught it early, and it is extremely treatable, but the treatments involved are going to be uncomfortable, draining (physically and financially), and generally just a real drag, y'know? Cancer sucks. On top of this is the fact that Stacie has been working herself to a nub over the last two years in a Master's degree program on top of being a full-time second grade teacher as well as an excellent wife to me (Hello, this is Tom writing) and mother to Carlin (who is FOURTEEN THIS YEAR for anyone who is keeping count).
Anyway. Surgery day is April 23. We are not sure how long exactly she will be down after that, but it will be at least four weeks, likely more. Medical bills are brutal. Lost wages and time off is rough. We don't ask for much, and we definitely don't reach out for help often, but we could use the support of our community to get through this. I love her so much. I know our community does too.
