On the morning of August 22nd, 2024, our beloved friend Justin Chearno died unexpectedly. Justin moved easily through many worlds—restaurants, wine, music—turning the people he met and knew onto the things he loved. In the process, he spread joy and laughter, and made countless great friends, from his native Ohio to New York, Chicago, France, Italy, Austria, and so many points beyond. Yet as much as we all loved him, it hardly compares to the love he felt for his wife Stacy and their son Felix, who is about to turn 11.

Felix starts middle school this fall. He adores his cats Smokey and Pepper, hangs out with his friends, and reps hard for his favorite NBA team (go Celtics). He’s smart, funny, and kind. Felix will really miss doing everyday things with his dad: Driving to school every morning, eating soup dumplings in Queens, and shooting hoops in Greenpoint. He will help his mom however he can, because he’s just that kind of kid. But with Justin’s passing, the family will face huge financial challenges paying for Felix’s future and college education. The goal of this GoFundMe is to raise enough so that Stacy and Felix have one less thing to worry about as they mourn this unimaginable loss and try to move forward without their spouse and father, who they fiercely loved and will forever miss.
