Help Stacy And Her Girls!
Hi my name is Lacy, Stacy’s sister. With a heavy but so very hopeful heart, I’m going to tell her story for her since she can’t YET, but SHE WILL one day! Right now we’re holding onto faith for Stacy’s recovery. Stacy was scheduled for an induction 3 weeks early for a natural delivery. Stacy was showing signs and symptoms of toxemia weeks prior but never was diagnosed at her OB office but instead sent home. Upon being admitted for her induction, on 6/4- she then was diagnosed with toxemia (pre-eclampsia). They began dilation on the 4th. On the 5th, her blood pressure was high, they started with an IV of magnesium to lower it. Stacy’s blood pressure returned to a normal bp. Later that evening Stacy’s bp had increased again 188/98, reading twice before our mom had ran out to check to see why the nurses have yet to come evaluate her. Where then they had given another dose of magnesium. They then told Stacy she was going to need an emergency csection within minutes and that baby seemed stressed. Stacy was so nervous, this wasn’t the route she wanted to take, she wanted to deliver natural. This wasn’t her normal doctors office that she had went to with her other 3 daughters, it wasn’t the hospital she had her other three babies delivered at. When she was brought in for her emergency csection 20 HOURS AFTER HER TOXEMIA DIAGNOSIS, stacy was feeling nauseous, she didn’t undergo any general anesthesia-she was given an epidural. Stacy said “mom, I feel like I need to puke”. Then so scared and anxious Stacy’s to mom, “Mom, I feel like I’m choking.” Again she said “Mom, I can’t breathe, I’m so scared”. “What’s going on with the baby mom”. My mom was trying to comfort stacy, trying to calm her while so concerned and scared for both Stacy and Journi. When Stacy said she couldn’t breathe, her larynx spasmed and collapsed. At that time, Stacy’s lungs worked like a vacuum and some of the fluid that Stacy had retained filled her lungs. Our sister, daughter, mother, cousin, niece, friend of SO many, went into cardiac arrest. Baby Journi Ann-Marie still wasn’t breathing. 8 minutes in she was finally able to take her first breath(Doctors: “baby Girl Jennison 8 minutes old”) when Her momma took her last. Back to Stacy, Doctors were able to bring her back and restart her heart. At this time, they had rushed to get Stacy stapled up to get some tests ran to try to figure out what had happened. When Stacy was going into her first CT scan, she coded again (cardiac arrest). Some time later, her heart was finally able to catch another sustainable Rhythm, this time, she’s vented. Stacy coded another short time later, again, able to get a sustainable heart rhythm and medications given. I’m writing this 7 days later. Stacy is on a vent and she needs EVERY PRAYER SHE CAN GET for strength and recovery. Stacy’s MRI is showing an anoxic brain injury. When she was taken off sedation the first time, her bp rised again therefore they had to put her back on. They have been trying to take her off sedation every 24 hrs. Day 2 of no sedation Stacy had become very agitated, clenching her fists, they put her back on sedation. Day 3, she rested. Day 4, 5&6 Stacy began having seizures. Day 7, Stacy continues her sad film but at a slower rate. Stacy blinked her eyes, I SWEAR she was looking at me with her beautiful blue eyes, she’d even have a couple tears drop from her eyes when we talk with her. Stacy is coughing (continuing on her intibation), she’s moving her legs, she moves her head although it’s not on command, she seems to be a little more alert than any of the previous days. An EEG continues in place to monitor brain function. we need prayers it picks up some more, if and when she recovers it’s going to be a very long road, but we’re going to do it every step of the way with her. If you know stacy, she is so strong and she has conquered EVERY struggle life has thrown at her. No matter how many times she wanted to give up, she couldn’t and she didn’t. Her daughters kept her going, her daughters gave her so much strength and motivation-filled her soul with love, as she did theirs. Stacy means the WORLD to her babies. We’re praying for Stacy to wakeup everyday. We’re praying she comes home to meet her beautiful babygirl-she was so excited to meet her. Praying she comes home to Jonnalea, Jaylah, and jaeda who are just waiting for their mommy to wake up. Donations would be for Stacy’s bills that she can’t pay for at the moment. It would also go towards helping Stacy’s 4 daughters that are in my moms care right now and any other expenses my mom is going to need to fight for Stacy’s recovery. If you cannot donate we are okay with that, what we really would like for everyone to do is just say a prayer for her and just keep them coming. We’ve got to flood the sky with prayers so they’ll all hear us and send her back to her body and tell her “girl, you better get your ass home baby, they’ve been waiting for you!” We can’t wait to hear the crazy stories she’s got for us. We can’t wait to hear her voice and her super contagious laugh. We can’t wait to see her smile and look at her pretty blue eyes with some life in them! Pray for her, because we’re not giving up on her, she’s Going to make it through this. We have so much faith in her. We need her to wake up! Thank you for reading and thank you for all your prayers and thank you in advance for your continued prayers! ❤️
Stacy is 27 years old, she should be home being such the proud mom that she is, nurturing and caring for her girls- she’s got to wake up and come home. She’s so missed.
Stacy’s rare diagnosis: NPPE (negative pressure pulmonary edema)
