Help Stacy long with his heart transplant recovery
Donation protected
Greetings, everybody my name is Samantha Long and I’m here to humbly ask for your help! I am apart of my husband’s support and care team. My husband’s name is Stacy Long. He’s been a loving husband to me for 26 years, father to our 3 children and grandfather to 3 grandchildren. Stacy is 50 years old and has been the epitome of an amazing, wonderful man whose entire family loves dearly. He has been my rock for so many years and now he needs me more than ever! In 2021, Stacy was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. The left side of his heart was declining rapidly. Stacy was once a formerly agile individual who was a provider. However, since being diagnosed he had to have a device surgically implanted; LVAD (left ventricle assist device) that in hopes doctors believed would help sustain his life with more longevity. Sadly, this was not the success we needed it to be. After two years Stacy’s right side had began to fail also. He was admitted to the hospital once again and was given a pic line with a medication that works to help the right side of his heart. As his immediate family and himself believed the LVAD and pic line would lengthen his life, we also know soon it will come to an end! Recently, Stacy heard wonderful news that he might be able to receive a heart transplant. In other words, his case was presented to the committee in NYC And they agreed he is a good candidate! Hallelujah, he was accepted to go on a waiting list! Stacy will need a complete heart transplant surgery in order to have a chance at living to see his children and grandchildren grow in years to come. There is so much stress and anxiety with knowing he needs a heart transplant if we want a chance for him to continue life. His family and I dont want to contribute to his anxiety and anguish! However, numerous expenses must be considered to ensure Stacy's heart transplant is a success. Currently, the family is seeking contributions to assist Stacy and his support team with expenses such as traveling to New York City for the heart transplant surgery and additional accommodation, as the hospital cannot provide sufficient lodging for the extended period I Stacy’s wife will need to stay there before, during, and after the surgery. Stacy will soon go to the hospital in New York and be admitted and will stay until the heart becomes available. After his surgery he will have to stay locally there for at least 3-4 weeks after. He then will travel back to Rochester NY where he will finish his recovery at Rochester General Hospital with the team that got him to this point. I appreciate any donations that will be received, and I whole heartedly understand that everyone has lives to live, however, with the critical illness Stacy is battling; “time is of the essence”. Please keep him and our family in your prayers, and thank you in advance for your compassion and generosity! ”
