Help Stacy Recover After Heart Transplant

Hi there friends,

My name is Jennifer, I’m one of miss Stacy’s friends since her moving down here. Miranda and I wanted to help set up an Go Fund Me for her. Just a little overview of Stacy’s life. Over the last year since moving to a new state and new town, She has been experiencing health issues that have slowed her down and drained her. In August when starting Medical School her heart which was previously diagnosed with SVT ( fast and high heart rate) was starting to struggle. As a former runner with an a lot of endurance, just walking around the campus was making her exhausted. One day while in class Miss Stacy was rushed over to the clinic where she was determined to have an enlarged heart she had something called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. This is the most common type of cardiomyopathy it occurs when the heart muscle wall thickens. This forces the heart to work harder and sometimes restricts the flow of blood leaving the heart (called outflow obstruction). It often goes undiagnosed because many people have no or only mild symptoms. It has been tied to sudden death in young athletes, but it can affect people of all ages and activity levels. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy may have a genetic cause. Since being down here at Duke she has had 4 open heart surgery’s, chest tube, 2 thrombectomys and was on ECMO for a week, She spent a lot of time in the Cardio Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Stacy was put on the heart transplant list after the 2nd open heart procedure. She got the call on December 13th that we got a heart!!! I am making this go fund me for her to help with her medical bills and help with her housing life. She is a medical student so she can not have a job while being in medical school. She has to be at the hospital every week sometimes 2-3 times a week. I have set up a GoFundMe to help her with medical expenses for the duration of her treatments, and if you can, please make a donation. Any little bit that you can assist her with would be helpful.
