Help Stan, Janie, and Heather Restore Their Lives After Fire

Hi, I'm Cyril. I have worked with my good friend Stan, and have been a friend of his family for over 27 years. I am so heartbroken over what they're going through right now that I just want to help them in whatever way I can.

Stan, Janie, and their daughter Heather lost their belongings and a place they called home for 50 years, in the Eaton fire.

Here's a picture that I took of what remains of their home.

During this historic crisis, they need help from wherever they can get it.

In their personal lives and their work, they were always on the other end, helping and supporting people in need.

Through his work at Iwa, Stan has helped many churches and individuals more effectively reach and minister to people of Japanese and Asian ancestry.

After being the 24/7 primary caregiver for their daughter who had a rare physical disorder that led to her passing after 15 years, Janie visited and gave care to many homebound seniors from their church.

Through her work as a therapist, Heather has provided many people the psychological counseling and support they have needed.

As a family, they have hosted and entertained many in their home, and they have provided for those who have needed it, a place of solace and refuge in the Japanese garden they so meticulously designed and created.

With Stan self-sacrificially working on a faith-based ministry person’s modest salary; with Janie being retired and facing thousands of dollars of debt due to medical and dental issues that require professional care; and with Heather unable to use the home office she worked out of; the three of them are in no position to handle on their own the monumental task of restoring their lives after such a devastating disaster.

Now is the time for us to come alongside them to give them the support they so urgently need.

With their 10-pound rescue dog, Ebenezer, and their green-cheeked conure rescue bird, Eleazar, they will need to secure temporary housing. They will also need to replace essentials.

Please help these extraordinary people who have done so much to help others.
