Help Starbucks Workers Recover from Fire
Donation protected
As many of you have likely become aware, Boulder County and several surrounding towns are up in flames.
As it stands, at least five of my fellow partners at my store have completely lost their houses to the fire, and we grimly predict many more to follow. It's highly likely our Starbucks store has also been lost.
To say this devastation is heart aching and tragic would be making light of it; cruelly so.
I am among the many residents of the area that was forced to evacuate with as many belongings as I could grab, and wait to see if my home, too, will be lost to the fire. Below are just some of the images of homes my friends have had to watch burn, and the surrounding neighborhoods that are still burning.
Most of us have been displaced, some permanently, and will be out of work and without access to all the common fixings our homes had. Clothing, food, gas, and many other necessities will be difficult to come by, and especially as many businesses that help provide such means have burned down. Many of us are still expected to pay rent today, despite the unlivable state, myself included.
Any contribution is a meaningful one. We wish to enter the New Year with higher hopes than we have now, so we ask for any help you can give.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.
