Help us survive starvation in the North

Hello, my name is Mohammed and I support my family of 29. Before Oct, I worked as an English teacher and a translator, but since then I have taken on the difficult role of providing for my family, spending all day every day running after aid, searching for food and clean water. The conditions in the North are extremely dangerous, a forced famine has been imposed on the entire population. Of the 29 family members in my care, I'm responsible for 10 children, 5 of whom are sisters I adopted from my cousin who died a few years ago. I also have 3 older brothers and a sister, they are all deaf except one brother. My mother and father are both sick and need medicine for high blood pressure, heart disease and my mother suffers from gastritis.

My family and I have lost almost half our body weight since Oct and as you may know, there have been tens of thousands of deaths caused by the blockade and bombardment in the North.

Migration to the south is not safe and many like us have chosen to stay in their homes in fear of death from the journey. We are barely surviving and due to limited availability, have little to no access to food besides flour for bread, occasional canned vegetables and rarely ever meat. Sometimes we're able to get soup or food from a neighborhood chairty but the demand is high with so many people waiting that sometimes it has not been an option. The price of flour is high and often fluctuates between $20-$50 for 1 kilo (2 lbs)

My family uses animal feed in place of food and have also used it to grind into flour when wheat flour is unavailable.

Everything as been demolished and destroyed which means no access to work or any form of income that could help sustain us for the time being. Without access to money or work, we have no way to buy food or the essentials required to stay alive. We rely solely on donations.

Any size donation is welcome because we have nothing close to what is needed to feed our large family. Any amount helps, all funds go towards the purchase of food, medicine, flour and anything else we need to survive. God willing one day there will be building supplies and tools available to repair and rebuild our homes. Until then we are focused on staying alive and avoiding starvation.

All donations will be released weekly to my sister and friend organizing our campaign and sent directly to me, she has been adding updates along the way. My hope is to reach as many people as possible who care about us and want to help.
