We are Steele’s Town Creek Farm, a small family-run farm in Newton, NC. Since 2021, we've been on a mission to humanely raise livestock using a rotational pasture system that promotes animal welfare, soil health, and environmental sustainability. However, as we near the end of our third year, we are facing some significant challenges, and we need your help to continue our journey.

Our Story

Steele’s Town Creek Farm was born out of a dream to provide ethically raised, nutrient-dense food for our family and to our community. We are proud to practice regenerative agriculture, rotating our chickens, cows and pigs in our field and woods to keep the land fertile and the animals happy.

But running a farm is no easy feat, especially when funds are tight. While we’ve made progress, there’s one critical infrastructure project holding us back—a secure perimeter fence for our field.

Why We Need a Fence

Our current electric fencing system is no longer enough.

Livestock Guardian Dog Escapes: Our loyal guardian dog, who protects our animals from predators, has occasionally slipped past the electric fence, putting himself at risk.

Cattle Breakouts: Our cows have found ways to test the limits of the electric fencing, which has led to stressful escapes that endanger them and our neighbors' properties.

Pigs: Pigs are notorious for escaping their fences at times and a perimeter fence would keep them on our property and not walking down the road.

Safety and Peace of Mind: A secure perimeter fence would protect our animals, safeguard our community, and allow us to focus on what matters most—caring for the land and our livestock.

The Goal

Building a strong perimeter fence is an investment in the future of Steele’s Town Creek Farm. The cost of materials, labor, and equipment adds up quickly, but it’s a necessary step to keep our farm running and thriving. We estimate the total cost to be $5,000, and every dollar you donate will go directly to building this essential infrastructure.
