Help Stephanie Alfaro Fight a Rare and Aggressive Cancer

Donation protected
On January 9th, I took my sister Stephanie Alfaro to the doctor for what we thought was a simple muscle spasm on her right-side ribcage. She had been perfectly healthy, with no signs of illness or discomfort. But we had a family trip planned for the 15th and she was afraid to travel with the pain and also the shortness of breath she was experiencing.

Things took a serious and unexpected turn when she was transferred by ambulance to Kaiser Fontana due to her elevated heart rate and the inability to hear lung sounds. After an X-ray, doctors decided to drain her lung, but instead of fluid, they found blood. A CT scan revealed a 10 cm mass in her lung that had shifted her heart, making it difficult for it to function properly.

On January 11, 2025, a biopsy was performed, and on January 16, 2025, we received devastating news: Stephanie has a rare and aggressive cancer—a high-grade sarcoma with focal rhabdoid differentiation in her lung. Her doctors are still working to determine the best course of treatment, as surgery is currently too risky.

Stephanie is not only a loving sister, wife, and daughter but also the incredible mother of an 18-month-old baby girl. To make matters even more heartbreaking, Stephanie was pregnant with her second child when this all began. She has so much to fight for, and we are committed to supporting her every step of the way.

This sudden and life-altering diagnosis has been overwhelming for our entire family. Her husband has been by her side day and night, but as you can imagine, the medical bills and living expenses are piling up quickly, and this is just the beginning of what will be a long journey ahead.

We are asking for your help during this incredibly difficult time. The funds raised will go toward covering Stephanie’s medical expenses, treatments, and any additional support her family needs. Most importantly, we ask for your prayers.

We are a faith-based family and firmly believe in the power of prayer. Your support—whether through a donation, sharing this page, or lifting Stephanie and her family in prayer—means the world to us.

On behalf of the Alfaro and Quintero Family we thank you for standing with us and giving Stephanie hope and strength as she faces this battle for herself and her family.
