Help Stephanie and Craig: Davis Fire Relief

Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,

My name is Jade Sakelaris and I am reaching out on behalf of my aunt and uncle Stephanie and Craig McKibbin, a beloved retired couple who lost their home, cars, and possessions in the Davis Fire in Washoe Valley, Nevada. As they were returning from a trip to Idaho to help a friend, they received the devastating news that their home had been consumed by the wildfire. Tragically, they were unable to return in time to save their belongings.

Stephanie and Craig have been pillars of the Reno and Incline Village communities for decades. Stephanie’s 28 year teaching career began as a student teacher at Incline High School in 1991. She continued her career at the newly opened Damonte Ranch High School in 2003 and retired from teaching in 2018. She has touched the lives of countless students, teachers, and families. Even in retirement, she’s continued to serve her community by working high school games and substituting when needed. Craig dedicated his career to supporting employees of the JC Penney Distribution Center as the Human Resources Manager. He is always someone his family and friends have been able to rely on for support and love in time of need. Their home wasn’t just a place—it was filled with decades of memories, a sanctuary where they welcomed family, friends, and animals, all while enjoying the beauty of the valley they loved so dearly.

Now, they face the unimaginable task of rebuilding their lives from scratch. While Stephanie, Craig, and their two dogs are safe, the emotional and financial toll is immense. They need our help to replace essential belongings, and begin the long journey of rebuilding their lives.

Stephanie and Craig have given so much to their community, and now it’s our turn to give back if we can. Any donation will make a difference in helping them get back on their feet.
