Hello family and friends, we are kindly requesting assistance for Stephanie and her Family with help for her medical bills and living expenses. Stephanie has a wide spread cancer that has changed her life completely. She is a young wife to Martin and mother of 3 boys (Joey-13, Kurt-9 & Clay-4) whose life has been turned upside-down. She has lost many things including the ability to sing which was a big passion for hers. Her dream this year was to finally see her favorite band, Paramore in concert in June. However with all the medical expenses and the stress on her body that may not happen. They are going to need help covering treatment & medication. Please anything helps out and keeps Stephanie positive through this whole process.
This is part of her story in her words:
“I started going to the doctors in January of 2022. I was working until the exhaustion from my treatments became too much, my cancer really hit hard on energy.
August 20th my dog caught my house on fire and we lost the stove, fridge, and had smoke damage to the entire house. August 25th was my surgery. They removed my thyroid the lymph nodes on both sides of my neck, and found more cancer spreading down my left arm and down my chest over my heart. The doctors removed as much as possible. I was in completely disabled for over month. I couldn’t walk, couldn’t move my arm or support myself. I had a job lined up with Geico but lost that because they couldn’t accommodate my later start day for October.
I went through physical therapy for my arm and was eventually walking but I do still have nerve damage. I’m currently doing radiation scheduled till February. The doctors aren’t sure it will work because they had to leave cancer in my neck to save my arteries and my vocal nerves so I could talk it was the best option for me. If radiation does not work I’ll have to start chemo in May or June.
All this time Martin has been busting his ass working as much as he can but also having to be home for me and the 3 boys. We rely on his overtime to cover most of bills which he hasn’t been able too since he spends every spare minute he can with me. The cancer center is an hour away, so on treatment days it's a whole day affair.. Somehow we have managed this long. It’s mainly bills we are worried about. My medical bills are continuing to grow. My 9 medications and some treatments aren’t covered by insurance so we pay out of pocket for that.
This has been the most stressful and taxing time of our lives. My cancer is life threatening if left untreated. It has spread to other parts of my body but the doctors are focused on my neck and chest right now.
I’ve lost hair and weight, and it’s taking a toll on my skin. My kids have missed out in a lot of experiences like baseball and camping and other fun things because our lives revolve around my appointments and me being sick all the time.”
