Help Stephanie And Her Dog Lucy After Car Fire

Donation protected
Hi! My name is Stephanie. My vehicle, that I have owned and maintained for 19 years, randomly and abruptly caught fire and went up in flames.
I had my sweet dear dog and best pal Lucy with me.
I bought the car in 2005, and have kept it going up until now. I always said I didn’t need a fancy new car, that I was going to run this one into the ground. Well.. that day has come lol. Unexpectedly such.

I was at T•Mobile trying to find out why my phone service cut off in the middle of my doing an order for work. I had been in line for some time. Maybe 15 minutes, when I decided to go check on my dog Lucy, who I’d had with me. The car was parked a few spaces down and so I couldn’t see from the store windows. I walked out and just saw something odd, and then I realized it was flames in the front section of my car and the passenger side. My Lucy was in the back passenger side. Luckily I always have the windows down for her, so I didn’t see any smoke, and she wasn’t harmed by any.
The rest of everything is a sort of a blur. I just know the split second I realized what that was, I ran and yanked Lucy out. She wriggled out of her harness. She was so so scared. Understandably. I just know I saw flames and heard pops and first responders telling people to back up. I remember just screaming “Lucy! Lucy. Where is my dog I need my dog!” I heard someone say it’s okay, breathe, someone is looking for your dog. Some sweet woman came from somewhere, and hugged me. She hugged me as she prayed for me to get through this, for my dog to be safe, and for positive energy to come my way. Finally after some time, a young man came and told me he had my dog in his car. Things were still a haze but I remember feeling such a release and weight lifted. I hugged him and thanked him. Anyone that knows me, knows that my dog is the most precious and important thing in my life. I also want to thank the employee at TMobile who called 911. Jocelyn. We spoke the next day and In our conversation she let me know that she’d been the one to call. And I want to thank the responders and especially the police officer who was so so kind and comforting to me, calming me and reassuring me that my dog was going to be okay. I didn’t get his name. But I remember his kind face.

My dog is safe and alive. The image I saw of her sweet self sitting in the back seat, a mere 3 feet from flames, will never leave my mind. Through all of this, something huge was on my side. Because she was this close to harm. I am so beyond thankful for that.

But so here I am. I’ve never felt comfortable asking for help. I’ve always tried to figure things out for myself. And there have been many times where I’ve needed to do that. And I’ve managed to bounce back up. I’ve been down to my last actual penny. Many times. And have managed to make it through and get back on my feet.
But this is something I never expected. I was using my car for work. That’s how I was earning my income. I don’t have any other source of work, at this time.
My car was also used to help my 77 year old mother with rides to appointments, supermarket, etc.

I was feeling helpless and lost as to what my next steps were going to be. To get back on my feet. And this lovely person that I know and trust, has offered to sell me their vehicle that they own, for an extremely kind and generously reasonable amount that is appreciated beyond my words.

So I am humbly asking for any help to get this vehicle, get it registered, get it insured.. and just get back to working. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. And I graciously and truly with my whole heart thank you to any bit of help.

Much love to all of you, Stephanie Reamer
