Help Stephanie Prepare for Life in a Wheelchair

Hi, my name is Pam, and on behalf of a lifetime of devoted friends and Stephanie's family, we are starting this fundraiser to assist her with transitioning to life in a wheelchair.

On Saturday morning, April 8 2023, life changed forever for Stephanie.

An extremely active participant in life, Stephanie found joy playing tennis, doing yoga, Alpine skiing, XC skiing and hiking in her beloved Colorado mountains... the place that she has called home for over 50 years. Working for over 10 years for SkyWest Airlines, Stephanie became an avid traveler and had two near-term trips planned to Mexico and the Azores this spring.

But on April 8, she awoke with extreme back pain. Climbing out of bed to stretch, within minutes was paralyzed from the hips down. After being transported to the local hospital, and then on to Denver, for more advanced neurological workups, she received the news that she'd suffered an "extremely rare" spinal cord stroke.

Stephanie needs help related to transitioning to this new life in a wheelchair.

She will need continued rehab in the near term. She will need to invest in a powered wheelchair to begin to create some independence. She will most likely either need some form of assisted living OR assistance in modifying her home to accommodate the mobility of the wheelchair.
