Help Stephen's Wife and Children in Their Time of Grief.

Donation protected

Hello, I am representing Stephen's family. We are asking for help to pay for Stephen's funeral and other expenses that would help his wife have time to grieve. No one would have thought that this would have to be planned at this time. Stephen S. Fistner was 53 years old when his life was taken from him while he tried to do what he always did: help another person.

On August 9, 2024, at around 6 p.m., Stephen and his wife decided to take the dog for a walk in Whitehall, PA. The next day, they were going to celebrate their 23rd wedding anniversary. They were walking and came to a parking lot where a man had just finished smashing into another person's empty car. When they were passing the car, the owner of the car had just realized what had been done to her car. Of course, Stephen and his wife felt badly for the woman. So they stopped to talk to her and tried to help wherever they could.
Well, this has been such an out poor of love and support. I am increasing the goal to the full amount. That truly would be amazing more than I could even imagine. So I am not greedy, but people are just finding out and want to donate, so I thought maybe this could actually be done.

As they were talking, the man in the car that was used to smash the car returned. The three of them were standing in front of the woman's car. The man started heading straight toward the three and started going faster and faster. The three of them realized he was headed right for them. Right before impact, Stephen pushed his wife out of the way of the oncoming car. The man intentionally hit Stephen and the woman. After this horrific act, he got out of the car and walked away.

The pedestrians that saw this were amazed at what they had just witnessed. It is reported that some of the pedestrians called 911 for Stephen and the woman, while another group started following the man in the car. The police and ambulance arrived and gave aid to Stephen and the woman, and they were taken to LV Cedar Crest. Stephen had major injuries. The woman was in critical condition. In less than an hour, Stephen succumbed to his vast injuries and died. The woman is still in critical condition at the hospital.

A husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend had been taken from all of us. Stephen was 53 and was married to a wonderful woman from the Dominican Republic. They had married, and then they worked hard together to bring his wife's three boys from a previous relationship to the US. Stephen treated the boys like they were his own. He helped them to adjust to life in the US. He was a very hard worker at Mack Truck and was good to anyone he met. He was a happy guy, a big teddy bear.

The police went after the guy who did this and easily found him because the pedestrians had led them to the guy's home. The murderer was arrested with many felonies and was taken to Lehigh County Jail. He appeared in front of the judge the next day, Saturday. He will remain in custody with no bail. He was charged with multiple felonies. The man stated to the police that he wanted to kill the woman, and the man just got in the way.

Stephen's wife, who had been pushed out of the way of the oncoming car right before impact, has lost her best friend and husband. She works as a nurse's aide and cleans houses on the side. But Stephen was the main breadwinner of the family. She is grieving very badly, all while caring for her three boys and the loss that they are dealing with. Stephen's mother also helps where she can. This is a horrible time. The wife can't work at this time because of her terrible grief and trying to help their boys.

Stephen had some life insurance that by no means covers the costs of laying her husband to rest. He also had a 401k, but she can't touch that until she is 65 or over. There are going to be legal fees and more time off from work. But most of all, she needs the time to grieve this senseless death of her husband. They were just taking the dog for a walk. Our prayers go out to the woman that she makes a full recovery. But when all is said and done, Stephen is gone but will be in all of our hearts and the hearts of the people who knew him.

We thank the pedestrians that took action by getting medical help and those who followed the guy so there could be a fast capture by the Whitehall Police that sprung into action and caught the guy and put him where he belongs, behind bars. So we know times are hard for everyone right now, but if any amount of donation would make things a little less on his loving wife. As representatives of the family, we thank you for anything that people could contribute to Stephen's funeral and other expenses like food and bills. That now his wife will need to pay on her own as a single parent.

Stephen's body will be released tomorrow, and the viewing and funeral will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. viewing and 10:30 a.m. funeral services. At Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Homes, P.C. - Allentown, 1629 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA 18102 Friday. His wife can't even get Stephen's personal effects till tomorrow. Such as his phone and wallet. This was senseless, and this world lost a great guy because of a man who wanted some kind of revenge. Witnesses say that the man was screaming horrible things toward the woman while he drove the car that critically hurt a woman and took Stephen from our lives way too soon.
