Help Steve Furman & family on his road to recovery

Since October 24th, Steve has been in the intensive care unit for septic shock and on life support. Steve has undergone numerous surgeries to regain function in his heart and lungs, and control his condition – all to give him a fighting chance. He has undergone an amputation of his lower right leg and the removal of a portion of his left leg. For anyone who knows Steve – he is a private man; his presence is large; his laugh,  infectious; his child-like heart mixed with that serious demeanor – he is a colorful character in all our stories you never forget. Steve’s passion for his craft is only overshadowed by the passion he has for his family.


This has been a very stressful time for all of Steve’s family as his condition continues to change daily. On November 5th, four days before his birthday, he was successfully taken off life-support, but his battle will continue for weeks and possibly months to come, with many surgeries on his legs and a prolonged stay in the intensive care unit to recover functionality in his lungs. The map to his new normal is still being drawn as he progresses slowly forward.

We would like to support Steve’s family and raise funds to help ease some of the financial strain during this ongoing and stressful time. Heather and Steve are a team, and as with any good team, when one member is down, it is difficult to function. Any money raised would greatly help with medical expenses, child care, loss of income and general needs as they arise for the family.
