Help Steve Heal: Support His Medical Care

Hi there. We could really use your help. Meet Steve, he's a 12 or 13 year old Un neutered boxer- pitbull mix and a really sweet guy. He had a happy family, and then he didn't. He ended up at the shelter three times, he had a significant weight loss between the first and second visits and blood tests suggested kidney and maybe liver disease.

On the third visit he was found tied up at Paws with several injuries. We will never know what happened to him but a volunteer at the shelter was familiar with his family, believes he's been through a lot of trauma in the last couple years. He was taken in by some family members that love him. He's recovering slowly, he's had some care from a veterinarian but he needs more. It has been confirmed that he has kidney disease and needs more tests.

Some of the sores on his feet aren't healing well. He licks them obsessively and we hope antidepressants will help with that. The family that has him unfortunately isn't doing well financially and could use some help with his care. They don't want to give him up because he is familiar with them, and they love him. We don't believe his care will be a huge cost, but more than they can cover.
