Help Steve M. pay surgery expenses

Hello everyone! Our friend Steven M. (a native of Topeka, KS who is known for his musical and media talents and good heart), has encountered some medical and financial problems and needs his friends' help.

Steve has been unexpectedly and severely ill in the last few months, and has been unable to work.  Being that he has survived cancer twice already, his doctors wanted to take his health concerns seriously. They had Steve undergo surgery to take fluid off of a lymph node. This same lymph node has previously presented problems during his past battles with cancer, so the doctors analyzed the fluid and ran some tests. At this time, Steve has received a diagnosis of Stage 3 Hodgkin's lymphoma. He is awaiting further information about his next steps for treatment.

Unfortunately, having been out of work due to illness, Steve has also been without health insurance. His surgeon almost refused to do the surgery that he needed, and now he is under a mountain of medical debt. The ACA enrollment period hasn't been open the whole time that he's been ill, so he can't access that as an insurance option. We are hoping that with the help of caring individuals such as you, Steve will be able to pay off the outstanding balance for his surgery and proceed forward in his health treatment with more peace of mind.
