Help Stilwell’s Make It Through 2022

Hi, my name is Chris Stilwell and I am fundraising for my parents. Army veteran Chris and Claudia Stilwell need help paying for medical and living expenses until my father can get on full time disability.

2021 was a difficult year for my family when my father was in a mountain bike accident during a riding trip in June 2021. The crash resulted in many broken bones, traumatic brain injury, long hospital stays, throat trauma, along with mental and emotional trauma. My dad’s recovery includes trying to regain his motor skills, cognitive learning and brain memory. Despite his hard work and continuous effort to get himself better, his recovery is slow and is keeping him from being able to go to work.

Since the accident, my parents have been receiving short term disability, however, all of his benefits have been used up. They have been abruptly cut down to a single income despite the need for more upcoming surgeries, specialist visits, and other treatment appointments in the future. My parents are in the process of applying for full time disability but they have been advised that the process could take up to 12 months for the new benefits to kick in.

Both of my parents have been doing their absolute best to recover from this tragedy. But they need help right now to ensure they are able to make ends meet until the new set of benefits can help them continue the journey of recovery and treatment for my dad.
