Recently, we faced the difficult decision to lay off most of our dedicated employees due to unforeseen financial challenges that were due to mechanical failure repairs and then the recent ice and snowstorm put us further behind due to almost non-existent sales due to the ice on the city side streets that was not cleared. Not to mention, we were in the middle of a move to a different location, which has also been impacted.

These individuals are not just employees; they are part of our family. We are committed to bringing them back and need your help to make it happen.

Our Story:

STL Steak & Cake opened in 2020 as a weekend hobby in the southeast wing of Soulard Farmer’s Market. After 20+ years as a Health Care Consultant, I decided to leave my day jobs to focus on my love of cooking and baking. For the last 4 years, our company has strived to provide quality food to our community both in Soulard and Tower Grove South. We are proud of our team's hard work, dedication, and the relationships we've built with our customers. Unfortunately, the recent unforeseen events and weather have severely impacted our finances, leading to layoffs that were both heartbreaking and unavoidable.

The Impact:

The employees affected by these layoffs are talented, passionate individuals who have given their all to help our company thrive. They have families to support and dreams to pursue. The loss of their income has created significant challenges for them, and we believe it is our responsibility to help them return to their roles as soon as possible.

Our Goal:
