Help stop illegal fishing & wildlife poaching in Costa Rica
Donation protected
With 5% of the world’s species, Costa Rica is home to some of the world's most diverse and beautiful ecosystems and a true paradise of wildlife — including jaguars, sea turtles, whales, hammerhead sharks and breathtaking coral reefs. But these precious environments are under threat from illegal environmental activities such as poaching, deforestation, and illegal fishing.
We urgently need your support to fund our joint governmental marine and jungle patrols to protect these fragile ecosystems. Your contribution will help to uncover illegal fishing activities, illegal gold mining, illegal wildlife poaching and other crimes, so wildlife habitats and endangered species can be protected!
Your donation will directly fund the following:
- Marine & Jungle Patrols to uncover illegal fishing activities, illegal gold mining, illegal wildlife poaching and other crimes
- Fuel for our patrol boats to monitor and protect Costa Rica’s precious Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in the Pacific
- Tech equipment like drones, night and thermal vision, binoculars to track poachers and document environmental crimes
- Supply for our anti-poaching dog Appa who is a vital asset in our patrol operations to locate and deescalate those who harm the biodiverse nature
- Food & transportation for our dedicated patrol teams in remote areas
Approx. 250 € will fund a one-day patrol, so every dollar makes a difference.
About Us: Earthrace Conservation
We are a global non-profit organization dedicated to protecting wildlife and vulnerable ecosystems in Costa Rica and Panama.
Founded by conservationist and world-record holder Captain Pete Bethune, we focus on addressing illegal activities such as poaching, illegal fishing, and habitat destruction. We partner with governments and enhance joint patrols with local park rangers in 15 Marine Protected Areas in Costa Rica, Corcovado National Park and (new) Coiba Island MPA Panama. We also engage in special conservation projects such as clean-ups and scientific research expeditions. Home-base of operations is our 45m ex-navy vessel Modoc.
Our success in 2024: 50 Marine Patrols uncovering 100+ illegal fishing activities, 27 jungle patrols uncovering 6 illegal gold-mining operations & 3 illegal logging sites, over 75 volunteers supporting us
By supporting this campaign, you’re actively helping to save wildlife, preserve biodiversity!
Thank you!
