We’re heartbroken to share that Cowes Community Pantry and Surplus food distribution centre is facing eviction. We are a small charity called BabyBank Network Isle of Wight Charity number 1179382 incorporated in 2018. We are in the process of changing the charity name to Feeding Isle of Wight as this fits more with our aims and objectives.

Our landlord, Jam & Sons Ltd, led by directors Thom and Ben Board, has issued notice for us to leave the building. Unless we act fast and secure legal support, we may lose the pantry – and with it, a crucial lifeline for so many in our community.

This isn’t just a building. It’s a safe haven. A place where struggling families come for food, warmth, dignity, and hope. It’s where we look each other in the eye and say, “You’re not alone.”

Every week, the pantry supports dozens of local people – parents skipping meals so their kids can eat, elderly residents on fixed incomes, those in crisis trying to get back on their feet. And we do it all with love, donations, and a small army of dedicated volunteers.

But now, we are being forced to fight for our right to stay.

We cannot do this without you.

We’re raising funds to cover the legal fees and solicitor costs needed to respond to this eviction and protect the pantry. We are determined to stand our ground – but we need professional support to do it right.
