Help Stuart Bathers beat cancers butt

I am so overwhelmed by everyone's generosity, thank you to everyone who has sponsored me. Can't believe we smashed the £1k target in under 24 hours! On that basis I'm going to increase it!
You may have seen posts about my soon to be brother in law, Stuart. In January this year Stuart who is only 39 was diagnosed with brain cancer, a grade 4 Glioblastoma tumour. This was a massive shock to everyone as literally a week or so before he was totally fine. Over the past 6 weeks he has completed radiotherapy and a first round of chemo. Esther (My partners sister and Stuart’s wife) has been researching like crazy, looking at any alternative treatments that could help. Esther has found one treatment, only available in Germany that involves DNA sequencing. They produce a bespoke peptide immunotherapy vaccine to essentially give his own body a supercharge and the best possible chance to fight this disease from the inside. Unfortunately this treatment, alongside others are not covered by our NHS and come at a high cost. For the evaluation of the biopsy the cost is 10,000 euro's. After this the treatment itself is 47,000 euro's.
I really want to try and do what I can to help, so to raise some money I am going to ask all you lovely people to sponsor me to cycle the length of the Grand Canyon, that’s 280 miles / 451 km in 30 days. I’m going to do this via “The conqueror virtual challenge” (virtual because I’m not at the Grand Canyon, but I will be doing the miles out on the roads of Cheltenham) that way my distance can be easily tracked. I’m going to start Friday 9th April and finish Saturday 8th May (hoping that it will stop snowing soon, what’s that about!).
If any of you think this will be easy for me because I was really into cycling, that was in 2018 I have only been on my bike a handful of times since. I am so unfit after the last year of working from home and pretty much doing nothing. So dig deep, think of the pain I will be in…I don’t enjoy exercise at all in any capacity…I don’t know what these mystical endorphins are that people experience. After exercise I think to myself “I hated doing that, why did I do that and I don’t want to do that again, ever!” Stuart is totally worth the pain, so please spare what you can. Every penny is greatly appreciated. Lots of love, Faye x
