Help student research antibiotic resistance...
Donation protected
Who am I?...
My name is Emma Markowitz, and I'm a high school senior passionate about science! Since the ninth grade, I have been researching innovative, natural alternatives to combat antibiotic resistance. I have had the privilege of presenting my research at the state, national and international levels, ultimately earning 2nd place this year at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Atlanta, GA. These experiences have been truly inspiring, introducing me to new technologies and spurring new ideas.
So, why GoFundMe?
This year, I'm expanding my research to combating bacterial biofilms and creating a treatment for chronic wound infections. I live on an island off the coast of Maine, which means my local high school is small, and I have limited funding for lab equipment, supplies and chemicals needed to continue my research to the next level. However, with your help, I will be able to purchase the necessary supplies.
Some examples:
- Petri dishes $30
- Agar plates $150
- Magnetic stir plate $50
- Chemicals $250
- Bacteria $200
- Glassware $200
- Biofilm assay kit $200
Any leftover supplies will then be donated to other students to help them pursue their scientific endeavors.
Your help is greatly appreciated!
