Help Sue Hough kick Thyroid Cancer's ass!

Donation protected
Hey y'all, I'm Sue's son, Jake, and she may kill after this, but we're desperate.  My mom isn't the kind of person that can be described in a few words, but a force to reckon with would probably make the list.  She's my Wonder Woman.

That being said, she's scared, and so am I. Her cancer has came back, after 16 years, it came back. And she can kick it's ass again, but with her not being insured, the procedure is just too expensive. I refuse to let today's cost of healthcare be the death of my mother, so I'm here, asking for help. Because if anyone deserves help, it's her.

My mom, boy is she a handful. She gossips, she's nosey, always has to do things her way, she's so stubborn that even knowing that this page exists would embarrass her; but even on her grumpiest days, she's doing everything she can to help those that need her. She's an insurance agent that can't afford insurance. She spends most of her days battling against insurance companies, keeping them from robbing her elderly clients. Growing up, she'd work in nursing homes as an activities director, just because she believed in the mental well being of the people that stayed there. She's survived hardships that most wouldn't. There's not a person on this earth stronger than her. When I was in the 5th grade, she had a brain aneurysm the size of a dime, she shouldn't have survived from it, but she did. In 2005, she got thyroid cancer. The procedure at the time involved removing half of her thyroid, leaving the good half intact, but without function. She survived and her thyroid actually healed, working on it's own and without the help of hormones. She's had a knees replacement and more knee surgeries than an aging NFL player refusing to give up the dream. She did all of this while being a single mother. When I say she is my Wonder Woman, I mean it. So, I know without a doubt that a little Papiliary Carcinoma can't stand a chance in hell against her, but it's time and money that we're up against.

Our goal doesn't even fully cover the enormous cost we're looking at, and our time frame doesn't help us much. We live in a world were her and her doctor had to negotiate prices between our local hospitals. Basically, its came out to is either she can get the procedure at WHMC on 5/25 for $9,000 or she can get it done at CHI for just under $12,000 mid July. They say it's stage 2 cancer, although it may be worse, so we're not looking at a lot of time.

In my life, my mom has taught me a lot of things, but the one thing that's always rang true was to have faith in the community. And that's what I'm doing now. I'm putting faith in you, for you are the community. If you've read this far down, I literally beg of you, just a dollar. 10 bucks. a quarter. I don't care, it all adds up. Please help me save my mom.
