Help Sue Overcome Financial Strain After Health Crisis

My name is Sandie Knight and I’m putting this fundraiser together for one of my closest friends, Sue (Pauze) Dos Santos Pais.

As some of you may know, on 7/5/24 Sue survived a massive occlusive saddle pulmonary embolism to both lungs & a blood clot the entire length of her right leg. She was informed that if she hadn’t arrived at the hospital when she did, she may not have survived. To show the extent of her condition, the critical care team consulted in Boston, actually said, “this woman is still alive?” She was given a 30% survival for 48 hours while in the ICU - which she beat!

Sue is a warrior, as we all know, but this unfortunate circumstance has put her out of work, hospitalized multiple times and behind financially. She has been dealing with multiple chronic crippling colon conditions, which led to her current situation.

At her follow-up appointment, she was told that she’ll be on anticoagulants for the rest of her life. If she has them discontinued, she was advised that she may likely produce another clot, which she would not survive.

Sue is a mom, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, dear friend, and past or present coworker to a large circle of family and friends. And we need to turn to this large circle for some help right now!

Sue is always the one to provide comic relief to us all. She has always put others before herself. Whether it’s offering a shoulder to lean on, advice, a little unexpected gift, or laughter to brighten our day.

She has enough right now to worry about. And a long road to recovery. Let’s help soften some of her financial stress by making a donation.
