Help Suella pay her Masters' Fees

Photography is my passion and I need your help to achieve my dream.

For the past 15-20 years I have spoken often about my desire to study for a Masters in Photography. This dream is about to become a reality. I’m thrilled to say that I’ve been accepted on to the MFA in Photography at Belfast School of Art and can’t wait to get started.

This is where you come in.

With further education comes fees. In order to be able to pay for this course, I need to raise funds. I have some savings and am trying to make up some of the balance of €5000 through generous donations from people like you. Every single donation helps – large or small. A bit more info….

I graduated from studying Photography at Dublin Institute of Technology in 1993 and have continued to photograph various genres for the past thirty-odd years and more recently concentrated my work on the abandoned buildings within Ireland under the name Forsaken Ireland.

I’ve had several solo exhibitions which have been supported by County Council arts grants including 'Stories that Remain Untold' and 'An Essence of Presence' from the Forsaken Ireland series. I diverged from abandonment in 2019 after I was introduced to Patsy Boylan, an intriguing, avid Elvis Presley fan whose eccentric collection I documented in an exhibition entitled 'Welcome to Graceland' and subsequently published (with author Martin Towey) and exhibited 'An Act of Madness' in 2020.

I’m excited by the prospect of studying on this course because I feel it will enable me to expand my photography both conceptually and theoretically and I’m looking forward to the challenges it may bring. Right now, having talked about this for the past 15-20 years, the time feels right.
