Help Sully walk on his own: #SullyStrong

November 18th, 2024, I received a call that would change mine and Sully’s lives for the better.

A young man was given my number by an anonymous woman and was told I could help.

This man had found a puppy on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, dragging his legs.

The man did all he could but soon realized he was in over his head. He told me on the phone he was euthanizing the puppy at the end of the week if I was unable to help him… of course, I said yes.

When I met this little guy, all I could see was hope. Over the next 4 months, this little guy fought like the little warrior he is. PT 3 times a week, 30-minute stretches at home daily, laser daily, underwater therapy at home daily, two different wheelchairs, braces, an at-home yoga gym built for him. Whatever this little guy needed, he had. Thanks to an amazing rescue and to some sponsors who believed in him the way I did.

Though he has made incredible progress, he was not in a position to be adopted out anytime soon and his expenses are only going to increase. Knowing that no one will fight harder for him than myself, we decided it was best for him and if we made medical decisions for him going forward.

I have changed my life over these past 4 months to give this little guy everything and more to succeed. And I would not change it for the world. But now I am asking for help.

Sully had multiple opinions on his condition and we have found one surgeon that we trust that will give him the best chances at WALKING on his own. But this is not going to be easy nor cheap. It is going to require 4 surgeries over the next few months, ranging from cutting his knee and reconstructing it, to a total hip replacement, and physical therapy in between. I have not been provided these estimates yet , but will as soon as I have them. Some may question if this is not worth it and to those I will tell you this. Sully has fought so hard every day of his life. He is standing on his own, he is taking steps on his own but he is faulted by the congenital defects he was given and I’m sure some pain and discomfort. But despite the odds, this little dog wakes up happy and has more love to give than you can imagine. He teaches me a new lesson every day. This may seem crazy to some but you can keep your negative opinion to yourself. All dogs deserve a chance and a voice to fight for them. I am Sully’s voice and I hope you all will stand behind us in this journey.
God Bless. #SullyStrong
