Unexpectedly, on September 4th, 2024, Sungwook Lee tragically lost his life in a plane accident. Sungwook was a loving son, brother, and friend where his persona and spirit inspired those all around him and those in his life.

With a lifelong aspiration to become a pilot, Sungwook came to the United States to follow his dreams and with much ambition, he earned his degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with Cum Laude honors. Not only was he a hard-working student but he also had a deep-rooted commitment to both his country and community where he served in the army with much pride.

During this incredibly difficult time, we are reaching out to friends and anyone else who would graciously like to show some support. Considering a heart wrenching event, Sungwook’s family has come all the way from South Korea, and they are facing both an immense amount of grief and unexpected financial burdens. Such financial burdens consist of funeral costs, legal fees, and travel expenses. This is a devastating time for Sungwook’s family, and our goal is to honor Sungwook with the memorial he deserves by providing his family with the space to grieve without added financial stress.
